Fall 2017 Agility, Coordination, & Speed Presented
During the strength and conditioning program in the fall season, all players will work on the following skill sets: coordination, agility, balance, speed, power, flexibility and stamina. By working on and improving these athletic skills, the players will see an improvement in their overall performance. The Select players will go through a pre-assessment to set a baseline and a post-assessment at the end of the season to measure improvement. The Freestyle Sports coaches will work with all players in eight sessions during the season (see schedule on the right).
Level I - Pre-Academy
During the Freestyle Fitness Level I program, the Pre-Academy players get an introduction to strength and conditioning, where we focus on consistency and the right techniques. Learning the right way to move is priority and this will be provided in the form of games and short fun focused workouts. The goal is to keep it fun, so they want to exercise.
Level II - Academy
During the Freestyle Fitness Level II program, the Academy players work on one or two skill sets per session. Technique will still be the most important aspect, but the workouts will be a bit more intense than the Level I workouts. Learning to move properly and safely, while developing coordination and motor skills will be the priority.
Level III - Select
The Freestyle Fitness Level III program is based on the results from the pre-assessments. The teams will get personalized workouts to improve their weaknesses and extend their strengths. The exercises will be intense, but always with the focus on the right technique. Quality over speed or quantity, always.
