Today, One World Soccer and the FCBEscola of Austin signed a multi-year collaboration agreement designed to instruct OWS players in the FCBEscola system, to share coaching methodologies, and to organize soccer activities and events.
Some highlights of this new agreement include:
OWS players will train once a week with the FC Barcelona coaches who will design a specific training program for this group of select players.
OWS coaches will be able to participate in the FCBEscola Austin training program and learn side by side from the FC Barcelona Technical Director.
OWS players will even be offered the opportunity to represent FCBEscola Austin to play at other FCBEscola locations in the US. The FCBEscola Technical Director is also able to offer opportunities for players to train at FC Barcelona headquarters. OWS coaches and staff members will be able to attend as well.
The OWS Select players’ FCBEscola training will be included in the Club fees. OWS Academy and Pre-Academy players can take advantage of the significant discount exclusively available to One World Soccer players.
Shortly after the announcement that the third FCBEscola would be opened in Austin, Texas, Coach Daniel contacted representatives from FCBEscola to explore opportunities to collaborate. FCBEscola shared with Coach Daniel that they had observed several OWS teams at a tournament in San Antonio and that they were impressed with our style of play and our similarity to the Barcelona principles. His inquiries were welcomed by the management team of FCBEscola which resulted in several exploratory discussions leading to today’s signing of the collaboration agreement.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for both our One World Soccer Players and Coaches to improve their soccer skills”, said Randy Wagner, President of One World Soccer, “We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership between One World Soccer and FCBEscola Austin”.
“We believe that this is logical next step in the development of our Club as well as for the continued education of our players”, said Daniel Benito, Director of Coaching for One World Soccer, “The FC Barcelona training system is world-renowned and complements our training methods very well. We feel honored that FCBEscola has chosen to collaborate with us on this long-term agreement.”
The FCBEscola is the FC Barcelona official Soccer School, which originally started in Barcelona, Spain and offers the same program in several countries around the world. The FCBEscola Austin is the best way to learn the FC Barcelona methodology as the players will be training under the same successful method learned by Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Fabregas, Busquets, Valdes, Piqué among many others which consist of a series of progressive exercises related to each stage and level of education. FBCEscola also has official FC Barcelona academies in Florida and North Carolina.
If you have any further questions about this exciting new opportunity, please join Coach Daniel, Randy Wagner, and other OWS Board representatives on Monday night (May 1st) at 7PM at the Pfennig practice field.
